Information for Residents

 

 Check In & Out Times

 

Check in time is 2.00 p.m. If you would like an earlier check in please contact Reception on the day of arrival as the room may be ready prior to this time. Guests are welcome to leave their luggage at Reception should they arrive prior to their room being ready.

Rooms should be vacated by 11.00 a.m. on the day of departure. However, if there is no forward booking for the room, guests leaving on early evening flights, may have the use of their room until departure time for the airport. Please check these arrangements with Reception.

 

 Car Parking

 

The Queensland Club provides complimentary car parking for guests, monitored by 24 hour video surveillance. Please provide your car registration details to Reception upon check in, and in the event a guest double parks in the car park, we do ask that the keys are left at Reception.

 

 Computers & Wi-Fi

 

A laptop and portable printer is available for complimentary hire from Reception. Complimentary Wi-Fi is also available throughout the Club. A computer and printer are also available for Members’ convenience, located in the foyer.

 

 Dress in the Club

 

Members and male guests should wear a suit or a long-sleeved jacket and tie whilst in the Club. The only exceptions are:

- officers of the armed services may wear “dress of the day”.
- no jacket or tie is necessary on Saturday and Sunday for Residents before 5pm, however a jacket and tie should be worn after 5pm due to other Club activities.
- no jacket or tie is necessary at breakfast in the Willis room.
- no jacket or tie is necessary in the Willis Room for Saturday night dining as it is smart casual dress which includes tailored slacks, collared long-sleeved shirt (tucked in), however, no denim or polo shirts.
- no jacket or tie is necessary when playing in the billiard or card rooms.


Members and guests resident in the Club, may be casually attired when entering or leaving the Club to gain access to the Reception Desk and Accommodation, provided that the rear entrance and lift only, are used, and that no other areas of the Club are accessed including the main staircase.

Ladies are to be suitably attired, commensurate with Members dress requirements. Ladies may wear a dress, skirt, tailored trousers or evening pants as part of their attire in all parts of the Club.

At all times please note that short sleeved safari jackets, vinyl, leather or shiny jackets, polo necked shirts, denim, shorts, sports attire and sports shoes are not considered acceptable items of dress and are not to be worn in the public areas of the Clubhouse at any time except as the rule applying to residents in the Club.

The dress code may be relaxed for a particular activity or event in which case members will be advised of “dress of the day”.

Members are reminded that jackets and ties are available on loan from Reception.

 

 Early Calls

 

Early morning calls can be arranged through Reception however calls can also be self-programmed to your bedroom phone.

 

 Facsimile Machine

 

Faxes can be sent or received by reception on the behalf of residents.  The fax number for the Club is (07) 3221 9996. Any incoming information will be delivered to your room.

 

 Keys

 

On your departure from the Club, please ensure that your room keys are left at the reception.

 

 Laundry & Dry Cleaning

 

For the convenience of House guests a washing machine and dryer are provided in a laundry room next to the Kitchenette. An iron and ironing board are also available in all rooms.

A same day laundry and dry cleaning service is available Monday to Friday. Items should be left outside rooms for the Housekeepers to collect prior to 8.45 a.m. for same day return.

 

 Gratuities

 

Club Rules do not permit gratuities to be offered to the Staff. Honorary Members are advised that a 10% gratuity is added to their house accounts.

 

 Library

 

The Library is situated on the first floor. A wide selection of books, including paperbacks, is available for House Guests.

 

 Mini Bar & Beverage Facilities

 

All Bedrooms have a kettle, with tea, coffee, etc. provided in each room. Each bedroom has a fridge and a supply of refreshments and liquor. Please use the honour system of signing chits for your requirements. Additional ice and ice buckets can be obtained from the kitchenette.

 

 Newspapers

 

A daily newspaper of your choice is delivered to the room each day. Additional newspapers are available upon request.

 

 Security

 

A key is not required to gain entry to the Club. The front and residents’ entrances both have a bell push and the building is staffed 24 hours per day.

A key to a lockable drawer is provided for bedrooms 5 - 16. This is attached to your key holder. However, any valuables for safekeeping must be left in the Club safe in the General Manager's office.

The Club does not accept any liability for any loss or damage to any property of Members or non-members whether arising from negligence of the Club or any of its staff or agents or whether arising from any other cause whatsoever.

 

 Smoking

 

Smoking is not permitted in the Club or Verandahs.

 

 Telephones

 

All telephones have local, STD and ISD direct dial facilities. For internal calls please consult the separate card. Reception has directories for all major Australian cities.

 

 Television

 

Foxtel is installed on all television sets. The available channels include: Fox Sport, Fox Sport 2, Showtime, Encore, National Geographic and CNN. A remote control television is provided in all bedrooms.
